Why Special Event Insurance Is Required
Special event insurance provides coverage in the event of:
- Accidental property damage during your rental
- Injury to guests or vendors during setup, the event, or breakdown
- Liability for alcohol-related incidents (if applicable)
- Vendor or guest negligence
Even though The Barns at Crest Hill has its own policy, your event is a unique, private rental. This means you (the renter) are responsible for carrying your own coverage—just like renting a car or leasing a space for a business.
Coverage Requirements
Your policy must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Liability limits:
- $1,000,000 per occurrence
- $2,000,000 aggregate
- Coverage dates: Must cover each day the property is rented (including any setup or teardown days you’ve booked)
- Named insured: Mati Properties, LLC must be listed as an additional insured on your policy
- Coverage type: Special Event Liability Insurance (with host liquor liability if alcohol is served)
How to Get Coverage
Securing special event insurance is simple—it can often be done online in just a few minutes.
We recommend these trusted providers:
When applying:
- Select Special Event Liability coverage.
- Enter the event date(s) to match your venue rental period.
- List Mati Properties, LLC as an Additional Insured.
- Request a Certificate of Insurance (COI) to send to us.
COI Submission Deadline
A copy of your Certificate of Insurance must be submitted to us no later than 30 days before your event date.
You may email the COI to legal@temp.thebarnsatcresthill.com.
Without proof of coverage, access to the venue will not be granted.
